IT Professional

Location(s) USA-Texas-Houston # of Openings 1 Type Contract

Support the BHD's end-user desktop environments, including Windows PC and Macintosh computers; printer and peripheral equipment installations, configurations, and troubleshooting; and otherwise assisting the Technologies team as it manages the overall technological operations. The work involves participating in network security tasks, server management, use account maintenance, product research, equipment inventory, and product installations and updates. 


1.Respond to and collaborate in resolving HelpDesk tickets from staff.

2.Problem analysis, research (where required), and resolution for end users including hardware, operating system and software for laptops and desktops. Additional supported hardware includes printers, copiers, projectors and other A/V equipment.

3.Basic troubleshooting of TCP/IP Networking, DNS, and DHCP.

4.Provide technical support to each office as needed on-site and remote, via remote connection, phone, or email (as determined by the severity of issue).

5.Setup, deployment and maintenance of hardware including use of imaging software and day to day break/fix. This includes basic ability to use Hyper-V and Exchange Server 2010, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

6.Assist with account management and the upkeep of Windows Active Directory and Google Admin Console and office 365 Administration Console.

7.Accurately track staff problems and requests in the HelpDesk ticketing system to ensure responsive follow-up and completion of assigned tasks.

8.Work collaboratively with other IT personnel in the Technology Department.

9.Advocate and adhere to the IT strategies, hardware and software standards, security policies and operational procedures of the Technology Department and ensure policies are consistently applied to all office locations.

10.Maintain a clean, safe work area and professional appearance.

11.Other duties as defined by the Director of Technology and/or the Technology Manager.

  • Pass a background check
  • Associate's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum three years of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, DOS, PC/LAN environment, monitoring systems and tools required
  • Minimum three years corporate applications and systems preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other Information Technology certifications preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Ability to respond to incidents 24x7 on a rotating basis
